TruComp FAQ

A:  Reels have historically been a pain point for both companies and contractors adopting composite pipe. TruComp’s light weight but strong design allows us to coil our pipe which eliminates reel hassles including deposits, rental charges, inventory tracking and backhaul return costs.

A:  The preferred method is deployment from a TruComp “Rack”. Like our pipe, the “Rack” is light in weight but strong in its design for easy transportation and use along the right of way. It can mobile when carried on a small flatbed or step deck trailer or it can be positioned at selected staging points along the ROW.

A: The amount of pipe on a coil varies with the pipe’s diameter and pressure rating. Typically our 3 inch pipe will average over 3,000 ft per coil and our 4 inch product’s average over  2,000 ft per coil.

A:  Our carbon steel connections feature a multi-component coating system which was specifically developed for the oil & gas industry to replace exotic metallurgies. Parts treated with this process are heat resistant up to 600°F and resistant to more than 120 chemicals including carbonic acid, hydrochloric acid and hydrogen sulfide. Alternative materials are not stocked however are available as Special Orders.

A:  TruComp pipe installations can be trenched in, plowed in or surface laid.  Additional installation types include slip-line and HDD.

A:  Tee’s and wye’s are not stock items however they are available as special orders. Coated carbon steel versions will come treated with ZPEX protective coating.
